Urawa Crematorium (Location: 1523-1 Shimo-Okubo, Sakura-ku, Saitama City, Saitama)
Urawa Crematorium, like Omiya Seien, is a crematorium operated by Saitama City. Located in the western part of Saitama City, it is blessed with a natural environment along the Arakawa River with lush greenery adjacent to Akigase Park. It is reputed to offer a peaceful environment where the deceased can be quietly remembered. Another attraction is the beautiful view of Mt Fuji on clear days.
Three funeral halls with different capacities are available within the funeral hall, where wakes and farewell ceremonies can be held. This allows cremation to take place immediately after the funeral, eliminating the need for a hearse and reducing the physical burden on the bereaved family. The facility is also equipped with an altar that can be used as required, allowing family members and attendees to see the deceased off in a relaxed atmosphere.
The nearest stations to the Urawa funeral hall are Minami Yono Station, Kita Urawa Station and Yono-honmachi Station. From these stations, access is convenient by taxi or, for larger groups, by jumbo taxi/wagon taxi.
Memory Village Municipal Cemetery. (Location: 2-1393 Owada-cho, Minuma-ku, Saitama City, Japan)
The Municipal Cemetery of Memories is located in Minuma Ward, Saitama City, and is a park cemetery established in April 1976. The vast 27 ha site is blessed with a natural environment where more than 3,000 trees, including cherry trees, zelkova trees and dogwood trees, have been planted, allowing visitors to enjoy the seasonal scenery of fresh greenery and autumn leaves.
The cemetery is equipped with an ossuary, memorial service facilities, a rest area and a car park (337 spaces). There is also a hall where wakes and farewell ceremonies can be held. All facilities are barrier-free and designed to be wheelchair accessible.
The nearest railway stations to the Memory Village Municipal Cemetery are Shichiri. From these stations, access is convenient by taxi or, for larger groups, by jumbo taxi/wagon taxi.
Hikari Kaikan (Location: 5-13-29, Honmachi Higashi, Chuo-ku, Saitama City)
Hikari Kaikan was established in September 1973 and is open to all, regardless of religion or denomination. It is located close to the Yono Interchange on the Omiya Line of the Metropolitan Expressway. The facility comprises a four-storey (partly underground) reinforced concrete building of 1,340 sq m in total on an 859 sq m site. Inside, there is a first funeral hall, a second funeral hall, a waiting room, a mortuary and a car park, which are used for funerals and memorial services.
The nearest stations to Hikari Kaikan are Kita-Yono, Yono-Honmachi and Saitama-Shintoshin. From these stations, access is convenient by taxi or, for larger groups, by jumbo taxi/wagon taxi.
Omiya Seien (2-350-1, Someya, Minuma-ku, Saitama City)
The Omiya Seien is located in the eastern part of the city, adjacent to the Minuma Tambo. This crematorium is in harmony with the surrounding natural environment and provides a place where the deceased can be remembered in a tranquil atmosphere. The crematorium strives to respond to the grief of the bereaved family and respect the dignity of the deceased, and cremates corpses and small animals in accordance with the Saitama City Crematorium and Crematorium Ordinance.
The nearest stations to Omiya Seien are Omiya, Iwatsuki and Shichiri. From these stations, access is convenient by taxi or, for larger groups, by jumbo taxi/wagon taxi.
